VA6000 Series Fume Extraction Cabinet

The cabinet offers the operator protection by means of through and inward flow of laboratory air through the bottom aperture below the safety glass sash.

The air intake velocity will range from not less than 0,5 m/s with the sash fully open to approximately 1.2 m/s with the sash fully closed.

Outer section:

  • The outer cabinet is constructed from mild steel epoxy powder coated white.
  • Stainless Steel 316 is also an offered optional. (The inner liner construction material is as per the standard specification below).
  • The sides are 150mm wide that house all services with removable side panels for access to the services as indicated below:
  • Fan on/off switch interlocked with scrubber switch
  • Lights on/off switch
  • Scrubber on/off switch interlocked with fan switch
  • Wet and dry services tap outlets mounted on inside side panel of cabinet
  • 1 Electroplated sliding sash counterweight mounted on opposite side to taps inside side panel
  • Stainless steel wire rope mechanism to operate counter weight incorporating PVC pulley system with inserted bearings for smooth operation
  • Nylon slides and guide system to guide front sash, eliminating any lateral movement and ensuring a smooth vertical rattle-free motion.
  • 1 off 16AMP plug socket either side
  • The front section of the sides house remote handles for the taps for both wet and dry services
  • Aerodynamically and ergonomically designed front aerofoil 316 SS for smooth airflow into the cabinet to avoid any unwanted turbulence.
  • The width of the unit can be passed through a standard door width not exceeding 720mm.

Inner section:

  • The inner casing is contour moulded resin impregnated fiberglass.
  • No nuts and bolts protruding into the work area.
  • The drip cup is recessed and sealed firmly without crevices and made from “Vulcanthene”
  • The internal baffle is acid resistant resin-impregnated fiberglass, secured by polypropylene stand-offs.

Lighting Details:

  • The light is vapour proof incandescent, situated at the top of the cabinet where maximum light dispersant can be achieved.
  • The lighting provides a minimum of 800 LUX over the entire work surface.
  • The lighting is housed in an external housing and sealed off from the unit by means of a safety glass diffuser.
  • A silicone gasket seals the diffuser from the light housing.

Extraction System:

  • Fan is constructed entirely from PVC with an external motor.
  • The fan will be sized according to the size and volume of the cabinet required.
  • All ductwork is manufactured from class 4 PVC ducting.
  • All bends and joins are PVC sealed.
  • The ducting will be for the sole purpose of extracting fumes and vapour from the Perchloric Acid fume cabinet only. No other duct shall be joined into or tapped from it.
  • The duct outlet will be set to 1m above the highest point of the roof apex.
  • Any ducting other than vertical ducting will have a minimum angle of not less than 150 to ensure any moisture is completely drained from all ducting and avoiding any collection points.
  • A mist eliminator with spray nozzles is mounted directly above the scrubber system.
